If you live where snow accumulates, have you ever tried making ice cream from the snow in your backyard?
I have to admit, I haven’t tried it yet but my husband, son and my Mom plan on doing it at some point this winter here in Michigan.
There’s a few ingredients that you’ll need for snow ice cream but chances are they’re in your cupboard or pantry already:
1/2 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 cup half and half
Blend until sugar is dissolved and texture is smooth.
Add clean snow until you feel your ice cream is thick enough to scoop unless you’d prefer to drink your snow ice cream with a straw like a slushie.
Next the topping fun begins by adding your favorite toppings like caramel or chocolate sauce or sprinkles. At our house we always have chopped nuts to add to our desserts but there’s nothing wrong with mini chocolate or peanut butter chips. Make it your own!
