The earthquake was centered in Kodāri̇̄ at a depth of 10 kilometers (about 6.2 miles). The USGS said it received 223 reports of people having felt the earthquake at the time of publication.
The Nepal earthquake struck hours after a 3.8-magnitude earthquake was reported in California on Wednesday (February 26), according to the United States Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered in Petrolia at a depth of 12.1 kilometers (about 7.5 miles).
