Shawn Mendes broke up with his longtime girlfriend, Camila Cabello, just ahead of Thanksgiving, and the singer is now promising that "It'll Be Okay" with his new single of the same name. "We started our relationship as best friends and will continue to be best friends," both wrote in their joint statement.

A source later told E! News that Mendes had been the one to initiate the split. "It was really hard for a few days but she has been spending a lot of time with friends and keeping busy," the insider said of Camila Cabello after news broke that she and Mendes had broken up.

The source also shared that it "was not a bad breakup at all," adding that the romance had fizzled out. The source shared that Cabello and Mendes felt they were better off being friends.
