Katy Perry Set To Hold Las Vegas Residency At New Casino: Report

Katy Perry could be heading to Sin City!

True to her lyrics, it looks like the “Dark Horse” musician really will be waking up in Vegas with a year-long residency at The Theatre at Resorts World, according to a Billboard report published on Friday (March 19). The outlet, who learned of Perry’s rumored residency via sources, reports that Perry’s stay will kick off in late-2021 and continue through 2022.

Additional reports suspect the 36-year-old will “two nights a week for four months during the $168 million contract.”

The 5,000-capacity, $4.3 billion-dollar venue will also run as a joint development in partnership with AEG Presents. Resorts World has yet to announce an official opening date for its venue but reports suggest it will have its debut this summer.

If these reports are true, Perry will be joining a long line of other songstresses to have held residencies in Las Vegas, including Britney Spears, Jennifer Lopez, and Celine Dion. Gwen Stefani is the most recent pop star to get a residency with her “Just a Girl” showcase at Zappos Theater, which ran from June 2018 to February 2020.

As fans know, Perry released her sixth studio album, Smile, last summer. The LP featured songs like “Cry About It Later,” “Never Really Over,” “Not the End of the World” and “Harleys in Hawaii.”

In addition to dropping a new album, Perry also celebrated becoming a new mom. In August 2020, “Never Worn White” superstar and her fiance Orlando Bloom welcomed their first child together, Daisy Dove.

At the time of this writing, Perry has not confirmed or denied these reports.
