Gas prices are spiking across the country. But here in California are some of the worst ones being hit. Severe flooding in the Midwest, as well as refinery issues hitting multiple facilities on the West Coast, have both contributed to the spike in prices. American Media Inc. announced Wednesday that it plans to sell the U.S. and U.K. editions of its National Enquirer, as well as its Globe and National Examiner publications. The decision follows accusations of extortion and blackmail made by Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos. (ABC)
Julian Assange, the fugitive founder of WikiLeaks and publisher of state secrets that embarrassed governments around the world, was arrested on behalf of the U.S. in London yesterday. He was wanted by British authorities for skipping bail in August 2012, while he was under investigation for sexual assault and rape in Sweden. (NBC)
