Magic Johnson has stepped down as Lakers President of Basketball Operations. Magic apparently came to the realization he wasn’t doing the job well and he wasn’t happy doing it. He held a 40-minute press conference last night to talk about before the Lakers final game of the season. (NBC)
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio on Tuesday declared a public health emergency in a heavily Orthodox Jewish section of Brooklyn amid a growing measles outbreak. A total of 285 cases of measles have been confirmed in New York City's Orthodox Jewish community since the outbreak began last October. The vast majority of cases involved children under 18 who were not vaccinated. (ABC)
The federal government on Tuesday raided dozens of locations belonging to doctors and medical equipment companies suspected of taking part in a massive telemarketing scam that targeted Medicare recipients and cost taxpayers nearly $1 billion. 24 people were charged in the fraud, including three licensed medical professionals as well as company CEOs.
