Border Agent Allowed Drug Trafficking
A former Customs and Border Protection agent was sentenced to more than nine years in prison for helping smugglers get drugs across the southern border, according to a case unsealed Friday. Robert Hall in total accepted $50,000 in cash from a drug trafficking organization "in exchange for using his position as a BPA to enable the DTO’s drug shipments to cross the border into Texas without law enforcement detection. Pelosi Opposed to Impeaching Trump
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is opposed to impeaching President Trump, saying in an interview that the process would be too divisive for the country. Pelosi also said that she doesn't believe Mr. Trump is fit for office: "I mean, ethically unfit. Intellectually unfit. Curiosity-wise unfit. No, I don't think he's fit to be president of the United States." (CBS)
Highway 99 and 58 Approved for Improvements
Caltrans and the Thomas Roads improvement plan are rolling out several improvement projects for Highway 99 and 58. $450 million is being put into the state highway system within Bakersfield. The projects will include upgrades to existing facilities and additions to the infrastructure. (KBAK TV)
