Trump Agrees to Sign Border Bill
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced on the Senate floor that President Donald Trump told him he would sign a border security funding bill that would avert a government shutdown, but also would declare a national emergency in order to get more funding for his proposed border wall. Near Record Rain in California on Thursday
A storm brought near record rain in California yesterday and caused flash flooding, mudslides, and the need for water rescues in many parts of the state. Palm Springs received almost 4 inches of rain yesterday, its third-wettest day on record. In Sonoma and San Diego County, up to 12 inches of rain was reported. The Sierra Nevada Mountains had nearly 2 feet of snow reported. (Source: ABC News)
1 Dead Following Shooting in Bakersfield
One man is dead and two others taken to a local hospital with injuries after a shooting at Quincy and Haley streets. Officers responded to a report of multiple shots fired around 4:30 pm yesterday afternoon. Police have no suspects at this time and it's unknown if the shootings were gang related. (Source: KBAK TV)
