Third Suspect Accused in Backyard Body Case Pleads Not Guilty

A man arrested in connection with the discovery of a man's body in the backyard of a Southwest Bakersfield home pleaded not guilty to charges against him on Monday according to KGET TV. David Williams appeared in court on Monday morning for an unrelated drug case, and returned later that afternoon and pleaded not guilty to charges relating to the death of Joseph Lara, who’s body was found buried in a backyard off Hathaway Avenue last month.

Winter Storm Could Cause Chaos for Travelers to Northern Half of US

A winter storm sweeping across the Midwest took aim at the East Coast overnight, bringing rain, ice and potentially as much as two feet of snow to some areas from Illinois to Maine, where winter storm warnings and advisories were in effect this morning and into tomorrow, according to the National Weather Service.
