Bakersfield had quite a windy weekend with heavy gusts taking down trees and causing some heavy damage to homes and vehicles.
The winds started picking up late Friday night into Saturday and not long after you could hear fire truck sirens around the city. Over 500 residents were without power into Saturday, and the streets were a mess with tree debris all over them.
Just off Gosford and N. Laurelglen, a tree fell onto a couple vehicles parked on the street. This BMW took the biggest hit as a branch came through the roof, totaling the vehicle. The car sat in its place all weekend just how you see it.
The other vehicle in front of the car took a big hit as well with the same tree damaging it. Neighbors said nobody was hurt fortunately, considering how large the tree was.
Thankfully in the valley we won't see the same winds on this next round of weather coming today. The system will bring a fair amount of rain and colder temps in the low 30's overnight.
