No matter where life takes them, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift remain close friends.
The "Bad Habits" singer shared some insight into his longtime friendship with the Life of a Showgirl musician in an interview with Access Hollywood published on Friday (November 28). The pair have been close pals since 2012 and have even collaborated on multiple songs together, both on their respective albums and as surprise live performances.
According to Page Six, Sheeran's comment come amid rumors that he and Swift have grown apart, speculation that Sheeran seemingly put to rest in the new interview.
"I'm not self-conscious about my relationship with her," he said. "We've been friends for very, very many years. We're super close and we see each other when we see each other. When we see each other, we lock back into where we left off."
Sheeran and Swift did just that recently as he revealed they had a long chat shortly after he shared that he learned of the "Fate of Ophelia" hitmaker's engagement to Travis Kelce over Instagram.
"My way of viewing it is like, me and Taylor are mates, and I will see her," he said, adding, "When I saw Taylor, we had like a four-hour catch-up and it's life stuff, rather than... you know what I mean."
Swift, who announced her engagement to the NFL star in August after two years of dating, recently shared her side of the story, admitting that she "forgot" to tell Sheeran her happy news because he "doesn't have a phone."
